BFCESD April 14, 2022 Meeting Minutes (APPROVED 5/12/2022)

 

  1. Pledge of Allegiance.
  2. Roll Call.
  3. Pete Baribeau made a motion to approve the March 10, 2022 Meeting Minutes, 2nd by Rick Oswalt, Carried 7-0.
  4. Public Input–None
  5. Fire Department Report.
  1. Moved to approve in May 2022 meeting, Mutual aid agreement with Village of Weyerhaeuser Fire Dept.
  2. Ambulance Service Report.
  3. Discussion on consideration of forming a BFCESD Auxiliary Committee. Mike Hessling made a motion to create a BFCESD Auxiliary Committee with Deana to help organize it, 2nd by Dan Wichser, Carried 7-0
    1. Moved to May 2022 meeting. Review BFCESD Contact List and Sub Committee Assignments.
    2. Fund Raising Committee Report.

 

  1. Consider a contract with Mandy Gordon to write grants for the BFCESD
    1. Building Committee report.
      1. Discuss Construction Contract Review and Approval process. Mike Hessling said their hoping to update the contract with NWB on April 25th and will bring it to the board to approve and sign at the May 2022 meeting.
      2. Discussing regarding Ground Breaking Ceremony for the new building was made and James Whitehead made a motion to have the ground breaking ceremony for the new Fire/Amb Hall on May 21. 2022, 2nd by Al Dirkes, Carried 7-0.
    2. Moved to May 2022 meeting. Updated Bylaws review.
    3. Al Dirkes made a motion to approve donations that were received since the March 11, 2022 meeting of $231,945.00, 2nd by Pete Baribeau, Carried 7-0
    4. James Whitehead made a motion to approve Bookkeepers report as presented, 2nd by Al Dirkes, Carried 6-0. (Dan Wichser left meeting because of emergency)
    5. Rick Oswalt made a motion Approve Bills as presented E-pay 116-121 and check #8057-8081 for payment, 2nd by James Whitehead, Carried 6-0
    6. Review Correspondence.  
    7. Commissioners Input.

**Town of Birchwood—Rick Oswalt—Annual meeting is May 19th.  Promissory note was approved previously but will be updated with new amount needed.

**Town of Doyle—Al Dirkes—Don’t see any issues at their annual meeting with approving the Promissory note and resolution.

**Town of Edgewater—Pete Baribeau—Annual meeting is May 19th @ 5:00pm, with the whole new board he would like someone from the BFCESD to come to the meeting just in case there is questions regarding the new building.

**Town of Long Lake—James Whitehead—Annual Meeting 4/19.  As of the last town board meeting explained different options that the building would be used for area training etc.

Town of Wilson—Cindy Fairchild—at our Board meeting the everyone was pleased to hear the building was finally getting started and promissory note and resolution was approved.  Pleased with the amount of donations that we have been receiving, can’t hardly keep up doing deposit, which isn’t a bad thing. 

Village of Birchwood—Dan Wichser— had to leave early

Town of Cedar Lake—Mike Hessling—nothing
